Why Democrats won’t investigate Paul Pelosi’s stock trades

By now, conservatives across the country are familiar with the double standards of the left and the biases of the liberal media. But the case of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband and his illegal stock trading has elevated the left’s undeniable hypocrisy to new heights.

Paul Pelosi has been accused of breaking the law by buying stock options for companies that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may regulate. But instead of simply calling for an investigation to address concerns, and with an unquenchable thirst for bureaucracy, Democrats are pushing new legislation to bar members of Congress and their families from owning stock.

Rather than demanding accountability and enforcing existing laws, their new legislation appears to be doing something but without the political risks. Insider trading is already a crime, and given the actions of the speaker’s husband, a full investigation would provide needed transparency to the people. Yet no member of Congress or the media has come forward to demand an investigation into Paul Pelosi’s dealings or dealings.

When I was attacked with a stock conspiracy, I knew the best response was transparency, and I welcomed it. Coming into office, I expected to be attacked for working to realize the American dream — and that I would have to defend it amid the anti-capitalist, anti-American rhetoric in Washington. Weeks after he was sworn into the Senate, a left-leaning blog published a political attack written as if in coordination with Democratic operatives. He said, incorrectly, that I traded shares following a Senate briefing on an emerging virus that was making headlines.

I have spent over 20 years in the highly regulated financial services industry and have built a career on expertise, integrity and regulatory compliance. Due to my roles and those of my husband, we did not have access to discretionary stock trading accounts and were contractually restricted from doing so. This is why, when I entered the Senate, I already met a higher level of compliance than other members thanks to a closed portfolio that far exceeded the requirements of the STOCK Act.

With nothing to hide, I immediately participated in several national news programs and provided all facts and materials on my campaign website and to regulators. But the liberal media refused to cover any exculpatory facts, including contractual agreements proving that I was not involved in business decisions. These story-breaking facts were never reported, nor was my eventual vindication.

Where is the same indignant outrage and calls for an investigation of Paul Pelosi? No one on the left is interested in investigating the circumstances of his investments. Instead, by touting the merits of new legislation, the left wants to distract from the whole mess and confuse it with the actual responsibility of enforcing existing laws. While the press doggedly pursues baseless allegations against conservatives to hurt them, the same wrongdoings committed by Democrats are branded as “free markets.”

This hypocrisy is increasingly part of our politics and our media. In 2020, the left and its allies ignored the hundreds of protests and destructive ‘defunding the police’ policies, even when they resulted in the murder of retired police captain David Dorn, a record number of killings by the police in the hands of criminals and complete anarchy. in progressive cities. They have refused to investigate Hunter Biden’s many conflicts of interest, censoring true stories while relentlessly covering up Russia’s false narrative.

Legacy media and the left won’t call their own, and the case of Pelosis’ stock trades doesn’t look any different. If our laws are meant to be enforced, they should apply to everyone, regardless of political affiliation or proximity to power. A divided America emerging from a pandemic, battling crime, open borders and inflation, deserves better than a partisan double standard in the enforcement of our basic laws. This survey would be an easy signal that we can begin to regain our balance.
