Budget 2022 Stock Market Live Update: The benchmark BSE and National Stock Exchange stock indices extended their opening gains and were trading up more than 1.3% in Tuesday morning trading as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman began her speech for the Union budget 2022-23.

At 11:08 a.m., the S&P BSE Sensex climbed 833.72 points (1.44%) to 58,847.89 while the Nifty 50 rose 232.05 points (1.34%) to 17,571.90. Earlier in the day, both indices opened more than 0.8% higher.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presents her fourth union budget today (February 1, 2022). Ahead of the budget, the government on Monday tabled the 2021-22 economic study which predicted that the Indian economy grow by 8.0 to 8.5% in fiscal year 2022-23 (FY23), moderating the growth forecast from a 9.2% expansion for 2021-22 (FY22) outlined by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in its first forward estimates of gross domestic product (GDP).

The all-important budget session kicked off on Monday following a speech by President Ram Nath Kovind to both houses of parliament. The session will be held in two parts – the first part of the session will end on February 11, 2022. After a break of one month, the second part of the session will start on March 14, 2022 and will end on April 8, 2022. .
