Flipkart Partners with Spice Board to Bring National Market Access to Farming Communities
E-commerce platform Flipkart has announced a partnership through Terms of Agreement (ToU) with Spices Board under its Flavorit Spices Trading Limited (FSTL) initiative to provide domestic market access and help promote farmers and grassroots organizations working in the spice sector from all parts of the country.
This development will help fuel the passion for Indian spices and farmers in this sector and bring online a variety of spices such as black pepper, Kashmir saffron, honey, cinnamon, cardamom and turmeric from Lakadong, to name a few.
Speaking about the partnership, D. Sathiyan IFS, Secretary of Spices Board India said, “We are delighted to partner with Flipkart to bring our diverse selection of premium spices to millions of online customers. Through the Flipkart Samarth program, we aim to drive inclusive and sustainable business growth for small, marginal spice producers. The Flipkart platform will also serve as a business channel for farmers to sell their products in a digital marketplace. »
Rajneesh Kumar, Corporate Affairs Manager, Flipkart Group, said, “We are honored to partner with Flavorit of Spices Board on our Samarth program. This partnership will enable pan-India market access for farmers and grassroots organizations working in the spice sector while strengthening our commitment to the social and economic development of our stakeholders.
As a local business, we want to unlock the potential of local farming communities with the benefits of e-commerce and contribute to their growth and livelihoods. This partnership will help reinforce this vision.
