ETC Group launches BTCetc on Cboe Europe

Digital asset-backed securities provider ETC Group has announced that it will list its physical-backed BTCetc ETC Group Physical Bitcoin (BTCE ticker) on Cboe Europe.

Trading on regulated markets, investors can buy and sell BTCE in the same way as they would when trading conventional stocks through their online brokerage platform or bank and with identical regulatory protections in place.

The underlying collateral is securely stored in an institutional-grade deposit, and investors don’t need a digital wallet or related technical knowledge, the company said.

BTCE, supported by a network of authorized participants and market makers, will be available for trading on Cboe’s Amsterdam-based exchange, Cboe Europe BV, and trading will take place in Europe, with clearing carried out by SIX x-clear .

Participants provide exchange liquidity and tight spreads, allowing traders to buy in all sizes without having to worry about market impact.
