Bulgarian stock indexes rise, Sopharma leads the way
SOFIA (Bulgaria), Oct. 18 (SeeNews) – All Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) indices started the week in positive territory with the blue-chip SOFIX index increasing the most – 0.66% to 578.72 points , according to stock market data Monday. .
SOFIX was mainly supported by drug manufacturer Sopharma [BUL:SFA] which saw its shares add 2.63% to their price. A total of 10,500 Sopharma shares traded Monday at an average price of 3.8808 levs on the Sofia Stock Exchange.
The BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded stocks on the BSE, rose 0.59% to 133.96 points, while the BGTR30 in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight , increased 0.43% to 651.41 points.
9.46% gain in shares of FairPlay Properties REIT [BUL:FPP] helped the BGBX40 move forward on Monday. BGTR30 was primarily supported by resort operator Albena [BUL:ALB] which saw its share price increase by 3.23%.
The BGREIT Index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, closed Monday’s trading session up 0.16% to 160.70 points, thanks to a 0.74% rise in Advance Terrafund REIT shares [BUL:ATER].
Total turnover in the main exchange market edged down to 512,019 levs ($ 303,900 / 261,800 euros) on Monday from 544,067 levs on Friday.
